What clothes do we take, where do they go, and how does that help the environment?

What clothes do we accept?!

We will take and recycle good condition:

- Adult & children clothes

- Bags

- Shoes

- Accessories

These clothes and accessories are then sold all over the world to be reused.

This includes the UK, central/eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa.

This is a brilliant way to stop clothes from going to landfills and give clothes a new chance to be worn by adults and children around the world.

Sometimes a non-acceptable item ends up in one of our clothes banks.

We do however have sustainable systems in place to reduce our waste as much as possible.

For example, branded school uniforms are turned into wiping rags and sold all over the UK.

How does this help the environment?

According to a case study completed in 2023 which you can read here.

For every KG of clothing recycled, you can save 3kg of C02 from entering the atmosphere. This means in 2023 alone we recycled roughly 416,286kg of clothing and saved over 1.2million kgs of C02 from entering the earths atmosphere. This alone shows how committed we are here at Fundraise & Recycle to supporting organisations, allowing them to become financially independent, and tackle the earths ongoing climate crisis.
