Having a clothes bank has also been a great way to help several schools gain their Eco Flag.
Some of our clothes banks are fitted with sensors that detect how full they are, this means we can act quickly and efficiently to empty them. For the banks without sensors, please give us a call when you notice that they’re full, but our drivers will also check them regularly.
If you ring us before 3 PM we’ll empty it the same day, if it’s later than 3 PM it’ll be the next day. However, it’ll never take us longer than 24 hours to empty your clothes bank.
The clothes are brought to our warehouse where they’re sorted, cleaned, and packaged before they’re sold around the world so they can be used again by children and adults.
Everytime 5000kg of clothes is recycled through your organisation we’ll plant an Apple tree on your behalf, or if you’re one of our partner schools you can request a Buddy Bench too.
At the moment we charge a £40 delivery fee for the clothes bank, however, this payment is removed from your first collections and is not something you have to pay directly.
The bank is just over 6ft tall and 3ft wide, it doesn’t require a huge amount of space and we’ll help you identify the perfect spot.
A fundraising assistant will confirm with your organisation the current buying price when you join Community or School Connect, however, the price is always subject to change and we will always communicate with you about any of these changes.
Some organisations have had their clothes banks for years, however, if in the first 3 months, your collections are very low and our assistance protocols are not working or you are not engaging with our assistance then we reserve the right to remove your clothes bank. As a new recipient of a clothes bank we would expect to empty at least one full clothes bank a month.
We have a referral scheme, so should you recommend another organisation to join the project we will pay your organisation £50 per completed referral. We also run regular competitions throughout the year with the chance to winamazing prizes. Milestone rewards include Buddy Benches and Apple Trees. Lastly, you'll be given your own online sponsorship board as a way for your organisation to generate even more funds throughout the year.
We accept all good condition and wearable clothes, shoes and accessories from all ages and genders. However if any 'bad' condition clothes that can't be recycled make their way into a clothes bank, do not worry they will not be wasted. We have a wiping rag system in place at our unit, this means 'bad' condition clothes are expertly cut, packaged, and sold all around the UK, with the funds being used to help us continue our support for the organisations we work with.
